DAILY GALLIPOLI TOUR (Full Day)

The Gallipoli peninsula is located in the Europian part of Turkey, with the Aegean sea to the west and the Dardanelles straight to the east. Canakkale war was a campaign of World War I in the Ottoman Empire between 25.april 1915. to 9.january 1916. Russia’s allies Britain and France launched a naval attack, with the aim of capturing Constantinople (Istanbul). The campaign was one of the greatest Ottoman victory during war. The war formed the basis for the Turkish war of Indepedence and declaration of the Republic of Turkey 8 years later under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who was commander at Gallipoli.
A tale of heroism Corporal Seyit-Corporal Seyit interred in the Rumeli Mecidiye Cemetery, virtually changed the course of the war single-handedly. He lifted the 275 kg shell, placed it in the gun and fired.
